Every woman's needs

"Salvatorr Ferragmo, Signorina" was my final year project during ITE.
The project was to design a shop in Changi airport to attract customers
to visit another country via our airlines.
My design concept was from the perfume "Signorina" from Italy.
I used Italy's famous leaning tower and the shape of the perfume bottle
to design the shop.
The fragrance, colours and elegance have all been incorporated into this design
and of course not forgetting the country where the perfume came from and
signifying Italy's famous building.
Elegant and vanity yet fragile like a glass like every woman was the key to my design.

Find Your Freedom

This is one of the paintings I did in my secondary school days. It is related to the topic, Freedom. Freedom is life, it is a gift. Everybody wants to be free, even the sea creatures. Without freedom life becomes dull. Freedom has many denotations, let alone definitions, but the connotation is not the same to everyone. Freedom is probably one of the most expensive things in the world yet it is one of the things most taken advantage of.  We are lucky to be in a society of freedom. Yes, some people take advantage of it, but, why not? Freedom is a wonderful entity but it might not last forever. If chances were never taken and if discoveries were never made, what would the world be like? Without freedom, life would not be as exciting or adventurous. Yes, our freedom was in danger, but it was not taken away from us. We may not be free forever, so let’s enjoy it while we can. Just remember, we are the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Ordinary yet Extraordinary...

Tara Donovan is an installation artist who transformed the ordinary into extraordinary. According to her, her installations mirror the ways of nature, particularly growth, and hence her work usually commences as a single unit until it blossoms to its full potential- portraying development. Another intriguing aspect about her projects is that she utilizes day-to-day materials to craft a beautiful piece that radiates a sense of life into a particular space. Using paper cups to exude that magical effect is rather impressive. She makes her materials not exactly transparent, but at least translucent or reflective - and plain to anyone to see. The plainness is in fact the art. They shimmer nonetheless, in unpredictable ways no matter how often one comes close or views from afar. Her installations come out as abstract art pieces to the naked eye making it look like it is not fabricated from commonly used materials, but rather from something rich and significant.

TANGO NIGHT

Dance plays an important role in our life. It allows us to relax our mind and building up stronger relationship with others. Therefore, I choose a type of dance, "Tango" for my theme. Tango is a vibrant and playful dance because it involves a lot of expression, improvisation and connection. It is often described as a passionate dance because of the close connection and relation of both partners.

In my opinion, Tango dance is one of the most powerful way to enhance the relationship of one another in a fun and vibrant way. The above artwork completely brings out the message of how wonderful the Tango dance can enhance the relationship of both parties and enrich their life. This artwork is illustrating the beauty of the lady and the gentleman while dancing Tango. In this artwork, I also illustrates the wonderful of how Tango dance can enrich their colourful life by painting the background of the artwork in colourful and glittering up their life by putting some glitter powder on the figures.

I am very proud of this artwork because this drawing can fully illustrate my feelings, thinking and imagination. I strongly believe that this poster can attracts public's attention and bring out a clear message of how Tango dance can enrich our life.

HELLO SUNSHINE

Every now and then go away , have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer since to remain constantly at work will cause you to lose power of judgment. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller, and more of it can be taken in at a glance, and a lack of harmony or portion is more readily seen.

Obstacles cannot crush me. Every obstacle yields to stern resolve. He who is fixed to a star does not change his mind.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
This is one picture that I clicked when I waked up early and sitting in the bus stop. the sunshine just poured down from the sky, that moment life seems to be so simple.

Repetition of Pasta

Repetition Sculpture

This picture is one of my assignments for my 3D Fundamental module. The lecturer asked us to make a sculpture with repetition as the theme. She said that it's better to make a sculpture that has unique materials so I used pastas as my main materials for my repetition assignment. Other than pastas, I also used toothpicks as my sculpture base. I used pastas as my sculpture because I'm quite fond of the pastas' shape (the shell pastas have a very unique and interesting shape) and the other reason is that I want to make something from our daily life routine and the first thing that popped into my mind is food so that's why I used pastas in my sculpture.

It's not hard to make this sculpture but it's hard to glued all the pastas and the toothpicks together. The pastas fell often because the top part of the sculpture is quite heavy and has an uneven surface and as for the toothpicks, they can't be easily glued because they wouldn't stayed for a long time If I glued them altogether so I must glued them one-by-one.

From this sculpture, I try to triggered the viewers' thoughts on something around them that might have other function to make/do something different from its usual function.

Inner Peace

                  Inner Peace

Maldives, one of the prettiest places in the whole world. This photo was taken from a plane window when I was about to land. The ocean is so clean that you can see the layers of the water distinguished by color tones. The sky is so clear with endless clouds, totally without pollution and human destruction. It’s hard to imagine that a place like this actually exists. This photo could be said as plain but isn’t this what we need when we’re in such a complicated world. Away from people, stressor and back to embrace Mother Nature and reclaim the very basic inner peace that we once had when we’re a child.

In cities, we are surrounded with low air quality and polluted environments due to industrialization. This is the reason why the rates of people getting cancer are rising annually. Nature is the cure for everything, fresh air, clear water and unpolluted environments are everything you need to regain calmness.

Halloween

                                        Halloween

Theme of my art work is about Halloween.

Halloween was also known as All Hallows' Eve, is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on October 31 .In this art work, I used markers to draw it on A3 size paper. For my personal, I like the characteristics of witches as they look very mysterious. So I drew an ugly witch who was very proud of her witchcraft, we can see this from her confident smile. She is eager to use her witchcraft ,she used her witchcraft to product those bloody words ‘WELCOME TO HALLOWEEN PARTY’. The date is Oct 31th.

The last day of this month is Halloween day, our classmates have already discussed about how to celebrate this day. For example, what can we wear on that day? Where will we celebrate? This is  my first time to celebrate Halloween. The poster is very important to tell others what will we do. I wish this poster will attract a lot of people to join us.

Industrial pollution

                                Industrial pollution

The theme for my art work is industrial pollution. Industrial pollution is pollution which can be directly linked with industry, in contrast to other pollution sources. Like air pollution, water pollution, and land pollution.

The lady represented our Mother Earth and her hair represented the sea and the wave. On her hair there are some images of the wastes from the factories, which I cut from the magazines. The black colour lines on her hair represented the pollution on the sea. On top of her hair there are three factories with chimneys and smoke. The smoke will cause the air pollution. On the each chimney, I drew some patterns, like lines and silhouette. There are many dots in the art work which represented the raindrops of the acid rain. Acid rain will destroy the land. Therefore, at the bottom of the art work there are some death trees, because of the land pollution. The Mother Earth is crying because of the pollution and the images in front of her head are the pollution caused by the industries. There are also some patterns on her face and the body use to represent the pollution.

Through my art work can see the most common impacts of the industrial pollution. Industrial pollution will cause many others pollution, to protect our natural we should start to solve the problems of the industrial pollution.

Euphoria

This is my artwork that I had done for my drawing fundamental. It is on a3 size paper. I'm only allowed to use "mark" for this.

This artwork, called "Euphoria". A forest that only exist in my mind. It gives this feeling of happiness. I had to used different method of painting for this. I used sponge for the ground, finger for the trees and paintbrush for the leaves.  I chose these colours because it makes it look peaceful and heavenly. I spent the whole Saturday to completed it after I had finished my other work.

Knowing that I am not enough skilled in painting, I'm surprised that I did a good job.  I felt pleased that it turned out quite well for me.

LIFE IN A CAGE

Actually I’ve made this artwork 2 month ago and I chose this as my final e-learning (language art) is because, the meanings behind it. I named this “life in a cage” based on my understanding about life. as we can see it through our daily routine, that life can not be lived freely, we still have to follow the rules either man-made or god's, then I symbolized with a design that I created. The cage that I made was symbolized the space of life that have a limit, it also can be a symbol that life have a limit. The silhouette inside the triangle, reflect a group of people that have socialization, there are three triangles that describe area group of people. First triangle in the top was the largest triangle, it describes a big community of people that has large network to help them fulfill their imperfection, so I make it’s position balance while the small one unbalance, then the 2nd triangle in the middle as the connector between the largest and the smallest, help the individual which is the smallest triangle to reach a good community through the large one, and the last was the smallest triangle indicates individuality that have the unbalance life. As I connect to the title of my project, the hand that I made is presenting God’s hand that’s holding the limit of life.

Introducing my 2D fundamental group project. Actually, this is our final project which has been re-done for twice. The basic idea was actually to make a combination of our 4 faces (me, and my group member) as one in an A0 size.
The most challenging thing was the requirements that were needed. We need to fill that big face with very small elements, and no repetition methods were allowed to use. The only materials that we used were just black drawing pen with several sizes. We spent about four days to fill it up with the super tiny dots, which was a request from our lecturer.  As you can see at the zoomed in part above, its was one of my parts, and I filled it with the Balinese traditional aksara, and  the words writing is mentioning my groups name and a long-short story about our journey.
After the assessment week ended, we realized that we learned so many things from that activity. The very first thing was the group intention and cooperation, and last but not least was not to make something in an “any how” way.

Pop Art Portraits

WPAP or which is known Wedha Pop Art Portraits is a illustration portrait of men and usually a well-known figure. This style of pop art were using a lot of vibrant color which is formed from the imaginary lines firmly where the shape of the face but the position and proportions are still the same as the original portrait by tracing it. This is one of my piece back in high school where we learnt about pop art that time. We are allowed to choose any portraits we want and it can be any gender ( the teacher did not give any limitation). What I choose is a portrait of Itano Tomomi. She is a Japanese idol group, AKB48 and also a model of Japanese magazine.

We are using corel draw program to trace the portrait and put a vibrant color into it, since the teacher did not allowed us to use soft color. So I used green for the face color. Green is soft yet catchy then I also put purple and blue color to tone the face. Because the face itself already green in color, so I could not use any other relating color for the eye bags. Therefore, I used pink and yellow to showoff the eye part of the portrait does not feel to faint in color because the eye ball itself was already dark brown in color so to show it off we must use more vibrant color. For the lips I combined pink and red color also brown color for the lip shadow. Lastly for the hair part, I used brown color to tone from light to dark brown and put a bit purple because purple make the dark effect in painting.

Pop Art itself is not that hard to learnt. The hardest part is to trace the detail of the hair and eye ball. Despite of it, we cannot forget about those quote says "Practice makes Perfect". Keep practicing and aim for the best!

Paris in a Flora Frame.

Snapped at a near-perfect angle , the Eiffel Tower , which represents Paris , sits nicely in a "flora frame" of my photograph. This shot was taken when my family and I were on the way to the tower , visiting such a famous and glamorous city like Paris is perhaps once-in-a-lifetime for me , thus , when we were about 100 meters away from the tower we all started spamming photographs with our cameras so as to capture the vast scale and magnificent Eiffel Tower. I found a good angle to take the shot and when I looked at my screen , those trees that were surrounding me at that time seemed to put on a frame for the Tower and it looks fantastic! I snapped my finger onto the button straight away and there it is the Eiffel Tower in a "Flora Frame". I named it Paris in a Flora Frame as I feel , or perhaps most of us feels that the Eiffel Tower represents Paris.

simple 3d work

This is my 3d model, which made in my 3D fundamental class. The concept of this work is juxtaposition.I used wires and paper to make it and the reason why i used those two materials is to contrast hard and soft or maybe start and now . In reality ,eggs are more frailer than chicken. So i want to change the properties of these two things.I used wire to make eggs that symbolise our childhood .I mean when we were child we would not be scary of anything ,however as time goes by, we grew up but lost our braveness inside ,so i used paper to represent this work, which i made. 知识共享许可协议

This photo was taken on the way I went home. My father was driving beside me. Suddenly, he asked me to see the sky. Wow! This was the only word I could describe my feeling after I saw the scenery above. There was continuous cloud along the sky, also matched with the sunset colour, so beautiful scenery that I haven't seen before!
Then I started think of myself. How long have I keep playing the handset and ignore such an amazing view? My answer is don't know. But I will started paying attention for that and continue taking photo for these beautiful view!
How long do you not lift up your head and enjoy nature scenery? Now, starting your journey on viewing them. You will find out something interesting!
